This is The Week in Polling, your Saturday dose of interesting numbers from top pollsters in Canada and around the world, curated by The Hub. Here’s what we’re looking at this week.

Following Freeland resignation, more than two-thirds of Canadians want Trudeau to resign

After former Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland’s shocking resignation from cabinet on Monday when she was set to deliver the Fall Economic Statement, the number of calls for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to resign has grown.

According to an Abacus Data poll conducted after the resignation, 67 percent of Canadians want Trudeau to resign. That’s a 20 percent increase since October when Abacus logged 47 percent of respondents calling for him to leave his prime ministerial post.

Calls for Trudeau’s resignation are not only growing among Canadians overall but also among Liberal caucus members. According to Liberal MP Wayne Long, at least a third of the caucus—about 50 MPs—want Trudeau to step down as soon as possible, while another third are undecided. The remaining third appear to be Trudeau loyalists and want him to stay on.
