‘We have a first mover advantage’: Organigram CEO Beena Goldenberg on why cannabis should be seen as a key agricultural sector

Presented in partnership with Forestry for the Future

Beena Goldenberg, CEO of Organigram Global, discusses the future of Canada’s cannabis sector. Nearly seven years after legalization, cannabis is still largely viewed through the lens of public health and safety. Goldenberg makes the case for a broader perspective—one that recognizes cannabis as a source of economic growth, innovation, and opportunity. She argues that realizing this potential will require rethinking outdated tax and regulatory frameworks that treat the industry as a risk to be managed rather than an opportunity to be cultivated.
