Christopher Hume: Why does Canada feel broken? Losing our all-important public spaces to crime and chaos certainly isn’t helping

Christopher Hume was the architecture critic and urban issues columnist of the Toronto Star from 1982 to 2016. During that time, he won many awards including a National Newspaper Award and the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada President’s Award for Architectural Journalism. In 2014, he received an honorary doctorate of laws from Toronto Metropolitan University.
