This is The Week in Polling, your Saturday dose of interesting numbers from top pollsters in Canada and around the world, curated by The Hub. Here’s what we’re looking at this week.

Stuck in a rut

In an Abacus Data poll this month, Canadians ranked freedom, nature and the environment, and opportunities and standards of living as what they like most about living in Canada. However, that didn’t mean most saw their favourite things about the country improving any time soon.

The majority of those surveyed on what they like most about Canada said that those benefits are getting worse or not changing at all. Health care was seen as deteriorating the most, while freedoms were seen as stagnant by the most. In terms of seeing the most improvement, 27 percent of Canadians saw diversity and culture getting better.
